1. Explain the meaning of the following terms as used in medical physics;
(i) Diagnostic imaging
(ii) Medical imaging protocol
(iii) Ionizing radiation. [6 marks]

2. Compare and contrast between fluoroscopy and CT scan as two main diagnostic modalities. [6 marks]

3. With the aid of a well labelled diagram, explain the production of X-rays for medical imaging. [6 marks]

4. What makes lead zirconate titanate the best piezoelectric crystal of choice for the production of diagnostic ultrasonic waves for medical imaging. [6 marks]

5. Describe briefly the principle and operation of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) imaging modality in disease diagnosis. [6 marks]

7. Explain SIX parameters that affect the quality of a radio-diagnostic image formed during diagnosis. [6 marks]
