a) TCP/IP protocols had several important features that allowed them to meet the need for worldwide data
communication. Explain briefly any three of these features. 3 Marks
b) Internet access is the ability of individuals and organizations to connect to the Internet using computers
and other devices. There are many ways a computer or a terminal can connect to the internet . From this
background, compare the following Internet connection types
i. DSL and ISDN
ii. Cable connection and leased line
c) Briefly discuss the history of the Internet. 5 Marks
d) Describe how a computer using DNS resolves the IP address of a domain name. 6 Marks
e) Internet is a global network of networks through which computers communicate worldwide. How then
does data move around through this global network? The answer is switching. Switching is a process used
to forward packets coming in from one port to a port leading towards the destination. From this
