Disposal of scrap

Disposal of scrap when handled in an imaginative manner can result in handsome returns to the organization. An effective disposal requires a compact disposal organization reporting to the materials manager, continuous market survey on the prices of various categories of scrap generated in the plant and constant touch with the industries which generate similar scrap and
with the end-users.

Section 165 of the PPAD 2015 provides the following as methods of waste disposal

1. Transfer to another public entity or part of a public entity, with or without financial adjustment;
2. Sale by public tender;
3. Sale by public auction;
4. Trade-in;
5. Waste disposal management; or
6. as may be prescribed.
