Describe five duties of the owner of goods in a hire purchase agreement.

  1. Notification of Cash Price: The owner has to notify the hirer of the cash price of the goods in a prescribed form.
  2. Disclosure of defects: The owner is bound to disclose to the hirer any defects in the goods or in his title.
  3. Deliver the goods: It is the duty of the owner to deliver to the hirer goods which constitute the subject matter of the hire-purchase agreement
  4. Indemnity: The owner is bound to indemnify or compensate the hirer for any loss or liability arising by reason of any defect in the goods or in the owner’s title.
