Activities for systematic succession planning

2. Review job descriptions and person specification for a key position.
3. Use performance appraisal system of the organization to identify individuals with potential to be promoted or transferred to the past.
4. Develop and implement talent management plans for identifying potential successors.
5. Implement internal management development programs.
6. Review recruitment policies to ensure there is a preference for internal recruitment and promotions for key positions.
7. Implement transition plans.
8. Conduct exit interviews with outgoing key personnel to determine reasons for leaving in order to reduce staff turnover in future and secure information necessary for smooth transition.
