QUESTION ONE
A) A car manufacturer is intending to incorporate a “traffic light” feature into their luxury
vehicles. This will allow users to know exactly when the traffic lights are going to
change. This is expected to be useful in towns and cities. They are planning to use
Structured Systems Analysis and Design Methods (SSADM) to manage the Systems life
Cycle for this new feature/technology. There are stages/modules from 0 to 6. Explain the
stages of SSADM for the car manufacturer and what each would involve.

B) The finance manager of a local company wishes to develop his own spreadsheet based
Decision Support System (DSS) that will help determine the financial feasibility of any
potential project the organization is considering. Discuss the benefits and potential
problems that might arise as a result of the DSS being developed by the finance manager.
