(a) Donna’s parents have established a trust fund for their daughter. On her21st birthday,
Donna receives a payment of Sh.10,000. On each successive birthday, she receives a
payment that is 80% of the previous payment. Write a sequence showing Donna’s
payments for the first 4 years, hence find the total amount of Donna’s first 25 payments. [4 marks]
(b) As an employee, would you prefer being given a Sh.2400 raise each year for 5 years
or a Sh.400 raise each quarter for 5 years?[3 marks]

(a) Differentiate the following terms as used in statistics
(i) Quantitative data and qualitative data. [3 marks]
(ii) Descriptive statistics and inferential statistics. [3 marks]

(d) The fourth term of an A.P. is 18, and the common difference is -5. Find the first

(e) How many arrangements can be made of the letters in THIRIETH? [3 marks]
