QUESTION ONE [20 MARKS]
Several authors have forecasted the future trends in workforce technologies. Using a global
logistics company with over 30,000 workers, analyze the statements listed below, and
clearly identify and describe TWO policy areas that would be of concern in each case

a) The technology of the future will be both collaborative and connected. (4 Marks)
b) There will be increased and more widespread use of intelligent self-service via
employee portals. (4 Marks)
c) Pervasiveness- The worker of the future will be able to work from anywhere, any
time and on any device. (4 Marks)
d) The concept of “bring your own device” popularly known as BOYD, will be more
acceptable in the organization. (4 Marks)
e) There will be less resistance to concepts such as “cloud-based HRM” (4 Marks)

government of a developing nation such as Kenya to help address the concept of the

One of the impacts of Information Communications Technology on the workplace is the concept
of employment.
a) Discuss the pessimistic, realistic and optimistic views of the impact of ICT on
