Irene works for a pharmaceutical company. One day, she arrives in her office and realizes
that important files have been deleted from her workstation. Her workstation is a desktop
computer running Windows 10, 500GB hard drive, connected to the Internet. She
immediately called the forensic team to investigate the case. After receiving proper
authorization, the team arrives and collects both a memory snapshot of the computer and a
bit-stream image of its hard disk. Write three hypotheses for what may have happened, and
explain how to proceed in order to falsify each hypothesis based on the collected data. Be
specific on the kind of evidence to be looking for.
