KISEB CERTIFICATIONS

KISEB offers two qualifications/certifications: Certified Procurement and Supply Professional of Kenya (CPSP-K) and Associate in Procurement and Supply of Kenya (APS-K). These qualifications are globally recognized. CPSP-K is the standard of excellence for procurement and supply management professionals, in both public and private sectors in the region. The programme addresses PSCM competencies and workplace realities. The qualifications:

ASSOCIATE PROCUREMENT AND SUPPLY OF KENYA (APS-K)

The course is intended to equip the learners with knowledge, practical skills and attitudes that will enable them to administer procurement and supply functions in an organization. A graduate of this course will be able to work as a salaried employee or in self-employment. To achieve this objective, units such as Law; Communication, ICT and Office Management; Quantitative Skills and Entrepreneurship and Business Ethics have been included, in addition to the core units.

OBJECTIVES

By the end of the course, the learners should be able to:

  1. Understand the role played by the Procurement and Supply Department in an organization
  2. Communicate effectively when carrying out Supply Chain Management activities
  3. Appreciate the impact of the environment in the purchasing and supply function.
  4. Recognize and apply ICT skills in supply chain management.
  5. Appreciate the emerging trends and issues in procurement and supply management

DURATION OF THE APS-K

The course is designed to be covered in 500 hours (1 year)

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

A person seeking to be registered as a student for the APS examination must show evidence of being a holder of one of the following qualifications:

  1. Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination with mean grade of C minus (C-), or
  2. Equivalent qualifications as determined by Kenya Institute of Supplies Management (KISM)

REGISTRATION CRITERIA FOR THE APS-K

  1. Fill in registration form,
  2. Attach 2 recent colored passport photos, ID copy and certified copies (by a lawyer/advocate) of academic certificates, Transcripts and KCSE certificates.
  3. Pay registration  fee Ksh 5,000 (APS-K) via Mpesa Paybill no. 552500, account name is your two names without spacing then indicate the transaction number on the registration form .You can also pay through the bank; account name Kenya Institute of Supplies Management ,bank account number 0102096929100, bank name Standard Chartered, bank branch Wetlands .
  4. Send your application form to our offices at KISM Towers, 11 floor, Ngong Road.

Find attached examination enrolment forms, fill in and drop at the KISM offices in Nairobi, accompanied by your payment and required documents. Copies of these forms are also available on the website www.kiseb.or.ke

You can then register for tuition at accredited institutions who have partnered with KISM, which list is available on our website.

 

Certified Procurement and Supply Professional of Kenya (CPSP-K)

The CPSP-K curriculum/exam is designed to equip learners with knowledge, practical skills and attitudes that will enable them to perform duties as buyers, supply chain managers, supervisor directors, or consultants for organizations. To achieve this, modules such as Costing and Budgeting, Finance, Leadership, Governance and Project Management are incorporated into the curriculum, in addition to core Supply Chain Management modules. The program comprises four parts, including a research paper and has been benchmarked to international curriculum and practice standards

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

A person seeking to be registered as a student for the CPSP examination must show evidence of being a holder of one of the following qualifications:

  1. Pass in APS (K), or
  2. Degree from a recognized university, or
  3. Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE), mean grade of C+
    (plus) with minimum C+(plus) in English and in Mathematics, or
  4. Kenya Advanced Certificate of Education (KACE) with at least TWO
    principle passes and credits in Mathematics and English at Kenya
    Certificate of Education (KCE)
  5. Equivalent qualifications as determined by Kenya Institute of
    Supplies Management (KISM)
    The course has 4 parts (1-4) and takes duration of 2 years

EXEMPTIONS

Seven (7) exemptions are awarded if the student meets the required qualifications as attached on the policy document below. A student is supposed to do mapping on their own using the previous institution/college/university course outline for the units they need to be exempted but if we have mapped the units, they just need to apply and attach the transcripts. Awarding of any exemption is dependent on your unit grade (should be credit- C and above) and also comparable percentage on syllabus coverage-should be 70% and above.
