QUESTION ONE (25 MARKS) COMPULSORY.
AXL LTD invited you as a consulting partner in Labour Economics after graduating from Maasai Mara University. The company assigned you to one of their clients ABC Ltd in Mombasa to train the management team on various aspects that surrounds its workforce management. Based on your first-hand experience in this field;
i) Discuss the significance of studying labour economics in relation to the attainment of vision 2030 in Kenya. (15 Marks).
ii) Explain to ABC Ltd the factors that determine the demand and supply of Electronic Engineers in the industry. (10 Marks).
QUESTION TWO (15 MARKS)
Organization performance is determined by various factors; quality of machines used, raw materials and the productivity of the workforce engaged. Inline to this clearly discuss labour productivity in relation to; its objectives, importance and the method used to calculate. (15 Marks)
QUESTION THREE (15 MARKS)
The Main source for the workforce used in any organization comes from; the organization itself, other related organizations and from learning institutions. In line to this, clearly explain the major challenges facing the labour market from producing the right people for the right job. (15 Marks)
QUESTION FOUR (15 MARKS)
Clearly discuss the process of wages determination taking into account the need and the challenges faced by Narok county Public service Board in determining the range of wages to pay to her staff recruited this financial year. ( 15 Marks)
QUESTION FIVE (15 MARKS)
Kenya is faced with a great challenge of unemployment among the Youth that has resulted to a high level of insecurity both in urban and rural regions. In addressing this problem, the president commissioned the ministry to look into the problem and determine possible solutions to the problem. The Ministry of Youth affairs in Bomet County requested for your service as a consulting partner. Outline and discuss the major findings of the study and hence give possible solution to the findings. (15 Marks)
